World's last typewriter factory 'shuts down' in Mumbai

Godrej and Boyce - the last company left in the world that was still manufacturing typewriters - has closed its production plant in Mumbai, India.

The company is now left with its last 200 machines - the majority of which are Arabic language models.

Samsung Galaxy Prevail review: Surprisingly elegant

Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Prevail and you may agree, it's one classy-looking smartphone. A silky-smooth 3.5-inch touch screen is rimmed with metallic gray, and the phone's sides and back are robed in soft-touch material.

However, this is no premium Android phone, and that's OK. The handset runs a respectable Android 2.2 Froyo operating system (sans TouchWiz), has a regular HVGA display (versus the Super AMOLED screen of other Galaxy phone,) and sports only a 2-megapixel camera and camcorder without a flash.

    People want iPads, not tablets

Ask anyone today why one should own a tablet and no one will be able to give a convincing answer. Then why are all those iPads virtually flying off the shelves? The answer is simple; people don't want tablets, they want iPads. Call it Apple's marketing genius or anything else but they managed to revive a dying segment and turn it into a profitable one. They made everyone take notice of it and now suddenly it is the hottest thing in the technological space. Yet, competitors are unable to match Apple's success in the segment, despite of the fact that on paper they offer everything that Apple's device does, at times even more. So what is not working for them?

Teen Thay Bhai : Movie Review

Teen Thay Bhai may have been produced by Rakeysh Mehra but it has been directed by first-timer Mrigdeep Singh Lamba who does show promise as a filmmaker to watch out for. Just that his first film ends up as a half-blown venture where there are too many theatrics and too many loosely edited scenes to allow the film to unfold as an uninterrupted laugh riot. Now that’s sad, because in terms of characterizations, the film is riveting. Om Puri’s loud, crabby, me-centric Punjabi businessman act is quite funny, specially when it comes to his attempts to get his overweight daughters married.
